Plug: IBM launches a 60-day “test drive” program for POWER servers (with Linux)

Get a System p (510/520) running Linux (there is an option for AIX… but I’m biased) for 60 days to try it out at no cost. If you don’t like the server, send it back with no obligation to buy. These servers have the quad-core POWER 5+ processors in them with simultaneous multithreading. You can also leverage Advanced POWER Virtualization (APV) which won last year’s LinuxWorld award for Best Virtualization Solution (yes, it beat out Xen, Virtuozzo and VMWare). Not to mention you can also combine these servers with the System p AVE (pAVE) open beta to run your Linux/x86 applications unmodified on Linux/POWER

You can get more information and sign up for the test drive here.  What do you have to lose?

Unfortunately IBM employees are not eligible to participate so I’m excluded…
