Pot: Meet Kettle, Kettle: Meet Pot (Microsoft calls antitrust on Google-DoubleClick)

Bradford L. Smith, Microsoft’s general counsel, said in an interview yesterday that Google’s purchase of DoubleClick would combine the two largest online advertising distributors and thus “substantially reduce competition in the advertising market on the Web.”
Not that I don’t personally feel this purchase gives Google a tight grip on the market (dare I say the “m-word”), but I’m sure Microsoft was probably in there trying to buy DoubleClick up to the last minute… or now they’re reflecting back on how that could have been a good purchase ;-)
Regardless, the same comments could probably be made for Windows/Office/IE/WMP/AD/…
