GoDaddy.com using Virtuozzo for Virtual Dedicated Hosting

I just noticed by way of a link that GoDaddy.com is using Virtuozzo for its virtual dedicated hosting – interesting to see yet another large customer implementing Virtuozzo. They even have a ‘powered by’ button…

My only issues with GoDaddy after a couple years with them are actually non-service related (other than one mix up they had with SenderID). Three issues I have philosophically are that 1) it’s getting increasingly difficult to break away from your hosting provider (hence, I’m still using them), 2) there are few really good/stable hosting companies out there (see all the 1and1 complaints out there) and 3) GoDaddy has in the past sold themselves as puppets for other companies’ (in Redmond) marketing schemes against Linux (despite being a HUGE Linux user themselves). Other than the SenderID complaint, I’ve had near-zero downtime – other than those incidents caused by me ;-)
